A Welcomed Addition!

I am pleased to introduce you to the newest member of our family. On August 2, 2009, for Jake's tenth birthday, he got a crocodile gecko named Gage. Gage has adjusted nicely to the pace of our family, although he primarily watches our pace from his little glass habitat. He really enjoys his diet of crickets and we enjoy watching him hunt them down.

Jake and Noah riding their bikes. Noah's head is definitely protected! They love this helmet- funny thing is that it actually came in handy. Supposedly Noah took a pretty good face plant while wearing this thing and just got up, brushed himself off and started to get upset about if there was any damage to the bike. What are my teen years going to be like with him?...urgh!

We had fun at Grandma Joan's the weekend before Easter 2009. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the kids spent the weekend outside.

Jake got his hair cut. He went from just above the shoulder to a faux hawk. urgh. Ah well, what are you gonna do. This is one of those battles I choose not to fight.

Taylor's winter Choir Concert 2008. We had bad weather which cancelled the original date, so the make- up was held in their gymnasium (the original was scheduled in the high school auditorium which really helps with the acoustics). They did a great job. Taylor made the talent show this year again for singing, as well.

Well, no one can say my children are camera shy. The weather was great, the zoo was not too crowded and the animals were active. This is my favorite spot in the zoo. Obviously, we had fun. Taylor was goth girl, Jake was Rey Mysterio- a wrestler and Noah was spiderman.

Ode to a teenager: that awkward, Jekyl and Hyde- type place where they find themselves constantly undecided and ever-so-slightly imbalanced between the decision of playing a five year old and a thirty year old. But I am highly honored that she still speaks to me. Thank you, Taylor.
